Agency Report Ramires has signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea which keeps him with the club until the summer of 2019. The midfielder, a key part of Brazil’s side with 52 international appearances to his credit, has established himself as a first-team regular since moving to Stamford Bridge from Benfica. More than five years on from his transfer, the 28-year-old has played 241 times for the current Premier League champions, including 12 times this season. Ramires’ decision to commit to the club comes as a boost after a series of poor results which have left Chelsea 15th in the league table and out of the Capital One Cup. He said: “I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. My family and I are very happy here in London. “In the past five years the club has lifted every major trophy. I hope to be an important part of many more successes in the next four years.”
