Dolapo Olusesi, a 300 Law student of the University of Lagos, has reportedly been arrested and detained by the police after a lecturer in the school, Dr Karo Ogbinaka, reported him to the police for posting a caricature photo of him on Facebook. A student of the school and friend of Dolapo, Olatunji Oluwadamilare, shared the story on Facebook. He wrote; “Fellow Akokites, the reality is upon us. At about 6:40pm today the 11th of May, a fellow Akokite was arrested. His crime? He reposted a picture on his Facebook page of the deputy Dean 2 of the Students Affairs Division in person of Dr Karo Ogbinaka. Dr Karo made complaints to the Alpha base that he found the picture to be a threat to his life and therefore he should be arrested. The Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has come down hard on the PDP in Rivers State, saying all those who were responsible for electoral offences during the 2015 governorship election in Rivers State should be jailed. He insisted that it is not enough for the Tribunal to just nullify the elections of Governor Nyesom Wike and his House of Assembly members, but that all culprits should be unmasked and prosecuted. Below are the words of the Human Rights Commission chairman: “In May 2015, the NHRC recommended 117 persons for prosecution over crimes of electoral impunity. “In one week, Nigerian courts have nullified two governorship election results in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states. We must ensure that those responsible go to jail. “Electoral fraud doesn’t just happen; people do it. A 42-yeard-old man, Akate Thomas was on Tuesday arraigned before a Makurdi Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping and impregnating his 12-year-old biological daughter. According to the Prosecuting officer, Cpl. Omaye Ujata, one Francis Omanga reported the case to the police. Ujata told the court that the 42-year-old had sexual intercourse with his two daughters, 12 and 10 years old and one of the girls got impregnated as a result of the “constant forceful sexual intercourse.’’ The prosecutor further disclosed that Thomas threatened to kill the girls whenever they tried to expose him. When the charge was read, the defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr David Agada, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum, who should be a blood relation. A 36-year-old woman, Precious Osas has been arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrates’ court for biting off a 25-year-old man’s ear, Chikwado Omokwa, over s*x in Lagos State, western Nigeria. The incident happened at a popular hotel in Okota where they lodged for a night’s romp. According to the police, Precious, believed to be a commercial s*x worker, allegedly collected N3,500 from Omokwa for an all night s*x romp and failed to fulfill her own part of the bargain. Peter Fabiyi,32, was on Wednesday, September 30, sentenced to 3 years and nine months in prison by Blackfriars Crown Court after he masturbated and ejaculated over a woman while on a London Underground train. Fabiyi committed the offence on Wednesday, July 2014. The victim, a woman in her 20s boarded a train towards Mitcham Junction and traveled a few stops before she realized that Fabiyi was standing directly in front of her with his trousers undone as the train left Elephant and Castle station in central London, after which he performed the sex act while they were both alone in the carriage. A 33- year- old woman Olawunmi Oyebode has been arrested and remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri for assault . This happened one week to her wedding in Lagos State , western Nigeria . Her journey to prison started after she was arraigned before a Magistrates ’ Court sitting in Isolo for the alleged offence. Oyebode who had concluded plan to contracther wedding allegedly slapped her neighbour, Anthony Onyeka for undisclosed reason .
