Boko Haram Beheads 10 In Adamawa

Reports just reaching us indicate that Boko Haram has claimed the lives of 10 people in Adamawa state.

According to a report by Daily Post, the suspected Boko Haram sect members slaughtered 10 people in Kwamda- Kobla village in the northern part of the state.

Addressing newsmen, the chairman of Madagali local government area, Maina Ularamu, confirmed the incident, noting that the gunmen raided several villages in the area at the weekend.

Ularamu revealed that the attackers embarked on the dastardly act by beheading their victims.

He said: “The village is five kilometres from Gulak town, but there is no security presence there as soldiers are deployed in Madagali town and Gulak only. When the vigilante men went after the militants, they escaped.”

Ularamu, however, expressed optimism that the military will offer the needed security in the area as well as protect lives and property.

Adamawa state has been plagued with a series of Boko Haram attacks in recent times. Last week, a suicide bomber, suspected to be a Boko Haram member, blew himself up at Garkida market and killed 7 people. Just before that, at least nine people were also killed in an offensive carried out by the Islamist sect in Madagali area of the state.

According to reports from the affected areas, the renewed onslaught by the Boko Haram insurgents had sparked fear and apprehension among residents of the area as some of them have started fleeing to Yola, the state capital, to seek refuge.
