Manchester United have spent the last 11 years trying to replace Roy Keane after the Irishman’s acrimonious exit from Old Trafford in 2004 but Louis van Gaal may have finally filled the void with the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin.

The French midfielder arrived at Old Trafford last month in a £25million move from Southampton but the excitement of the deal was lost in the midst of signing Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger just days earlier.

The 25-year-old has started in both of United’s wins so far in the Premier League and he’s covered an astonishing 25.4km in 180 minutes – more than any other player in the Premier League.

Van Gaal repeatedly expressed his discontent with United’s midfield last season but Schneiderlin’s stats should please the Red Devils boss after their bright start to the season.
